I Love Food Message: I've grown up to love and appreciate the food laid out in front of me. My family members love food as much as I do. Its just a pity that my appetite is not as big as theirs. But I do manage to eat a lot when there's really really good food. I love all kinds of cuisine but have a soft spot for anything spicy. I cook for myself when I have the time. I bake for my family. And sometimes its perfect, sometimes its not. I'm not a professional chef, but I do love cooking. The aroma flowing out of the kitchen door is always the best, whereas the aroma coming out of the toilet door after a satisfying meal is not my favourite. There's so much more to know about me. Guess you're just going to have to find out. More about me. It's Chinese Take Out Time Adventures With Chopsticks

Friday, May 1, 2009 It is pulut (sticky rice) with some santan (no, not satan. Its coconut milk) and stuffed with chicken floss. My new maid made this. Yummmmyyyyy-ness. =) Labels: home cooked, local delights, Snacks Friday, January 30, 2009 Saturday, January 24, 2009 My western dinner. Once in a lifetime that the family prepares a full-fledged western dinner. On the rare occasions that we do have western food on the table, there will be other Chinese staples such as rice, clear boiled soup, stir fried vegetables or meat. This is the first time we had a 100% western dinner. We had, as shown above, roasted chicken. I know that in Western communities that the chicken breast is the best part of the chicken. But for the Chinese community, the drumstick is the so called "best". And I like both but normally prefer the breast meat over the drumstick because of the less skin/fat. So there was roast chicken, and as you will see later, there was mash potatoes *ultimate YUM!!!* and some vegetables. Dad roasted the chicken VERY well. It was tender and REALLY juicy. When I poked my fork into my piece, the juices squirted onto my shirt. I'm not entirely sure how he did it because he did it before I came back home. The mash potatoes is simple. Boil potatoes and then mash them up. Add some salt and milk and mix it up. If you want you may add cheese (but knowing the adults in my family, they wouldn't like it so much, so we left the cheese out) and if you like add some bacon pieces. Dad made this gravy that was SOOOOO good with the chicken AND the mash potatoes. I didn't need the gravy with the chicken because it was already so good on its own. Anyway, it was delicious to the max with the mash potatoes. I'm not sure what was in the gravy but I know for sure that there was minced garlic. The vegetables were very simple. Put it in boiling water for awhile and then remove. Add some butter and salt to it. And you're ready. Quite simple actually. So there you have it. YUMMY dinner. Labels: home cooked, western Saturday, September 20, 2008 Got to Boon Lay and took bus 30 to West Coast. Went to have LUNCH at 2.30pm!!! Hahaha Laksa - WAY better than NTU's OK!!! Went to Sheng Shiong at West Coast to get groceries as we would be cooking dinner. After that waited for buses 30, 51 or 143. 143 came and we naik bas. Went to bro's place and started preparing. Backtrack for awhile k. In between cooking we watched a show. Its chinese variety show. Whatever its called. Its damn funny! The host was showing the people how the game is played. First a card of CHINESE phrases or words is held behind the person who will be guessing. The person who is giving clues have to give the clues in ENGLISH. And there was one which was in direct translation "eight big bla bla" But the host said this " one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,...." And the person guessed "eight". Next was the big right... he said this... "little.. pig. little pig!" Hahhahahahaa LOL! Big become PIG. So its in the end the fella was saying "eight little pig!!!" Then cleaning up. John, Yin Chau and Jun Yen washed the dishes. Hahha they lucky we washed all the utensils used in cooking as well as clean the kitchen. Was oily! Labels: festivities, food, home cooked Wednesday, October 3, 2007 Yes, I cooked it MYSELF. I did! I swear... and it tastes FABULOUS! This is what you do. Lay out the bread/tortilla. Put come Chili on one side. You decide how much. I normally like more because I make Chili that is spicy with loads of pepper and I love the kick. Well for me, I tend to be more "clean" and "lady like" when I eat this. Cause it gets sooo messy.Food - 10/10 (BIAS!! hahaha honestly though my dad gave his approval. I think 8/10) Service - N/A Ambiance - 10/10 (home is the best) Btw, all the cutlery and plates and stuff - provided by my parents. Hahaha.
