I Love Food Message: I've grown up to love and appreciate the food laid out in front of me. My family members love food as much as I do. Its just a pity that my appetite is not as big as theirs. But I do manage to eat a lot when there's really really good food. I love all kinds of cuisine but have a soft spot for anything spicy. I cook for myself when I have the time. I bake for my family. And sometimes its perfect, sometimes its not. I'm not a professional chef, but I do love cooking. The aroma flowing out of the kitchen door is always the best, whereas the aroma coming out of the toilet door after a satisfying meal is not my favourite. There's so much more to know about me. Guess you're just going to have to find out. More about me. It's Chinese Take Out Time Adventures With Chopsticks
I don't know what this is called Aseana Cafe Bar @ KLCC Chocolat World CNY reunion dinner Welcome Home! Sick Food (literally) What's for dinner and lunch? Must eat back home What a day! Saturday, May 2, 2009 Its a nice place to hang out and a lot of the ornaments on display are for sale. There were a few mirrors in the RM1000s (I meant RM2500s++++ up till RM6000+) on sale, and they were really pretty. I went there on Labour Day. After walking around for so much, Jacobson, dad and myself sat down whilst everyone continued to walk. If you want something more refreshing on a weekend afternoon, try this... Its Pandan Cream Cheesecake. The pandan spongecake separates layers of banana and cream cheese, there are coconut shavings and topped with chocolate syrup. Absolutely sinful and delicious! Thursday, April 30, 2009 It wasn't fantastic, nor was it horrible. A little too plain though. Mash potatoes would have been better than fries. And the celery was not crunchy anymore =( Its soft and.... =S Not really spicy per se. My sis enjoyed the rice, but my mum said it tasted normal. The chicken was tasty and not too dry. Apart from that, the only complain was that the portion of rice is too little. Mum didn't complain. She only said that the rice portion was too little. If you are to have the Nasi Lemak, I suggest you go at 10am to 12pm, they serve it at only RM12. Much more worth it... DOH! Anyway, I probably wouldn't go back there. Not my type of food. I mean, the taste and service. Kinda slow. I would still rather go to Sakura at Bukit Bintang. Nasi Lemak there is so much nicer. IMO, go to Aseana if you're hungry and have cash to splurge and don't mind overpriced food. Then again, its because of the location. Oh well.... Labels: asian, local delights, lunch, western Saturday, January 24, 2009 My western dinner. Once in a lifetime that the family prepares a full-fledged western dinner. On the rare occasions that we do have western food on the table, there will be other Chinese staples such as rice, clear boiled soup, stir fried vegetables or meat. This is the first time we had a 100% western dinner. We had, as shown above, roasted chicken. I know that in Western communities that the chicken breast is the best part of the chicken. But for the Chinese community, the drumstick is the so called "best". And I like both but normally prefer the breast meat over the drumstick because of the less skin/fat. So there was roast chicken, and as you will see later, there was mash potatoes *ultimate YUM!!!* and some vegetables. Dad roasted the chicken VERY well. It was tender and REALLY juicy. When I poked my fork into my piece, the juices squirted onto my shirt. I'm not entirely sure how he did it because he did it before I came back home. The mash potatoes is simple. Boil potatoes and then mash them up. Add some salt and milk and mix it up. If you want you may add cheese (but knowing the adults in my family, they wouldn't like it so much, so we left the cheese out) and if you like add some bacon pieces. Dad made this gravy that was SOOOOO good with the chicken AND the mash potatoes. I didn't need the gravy with the chicken because it was already so good on its own. Anyway, it was delicious to the max with the mash potatoes. I'm not sure what was in the gravy but I know for sure that there was minced garlic. The vegetables were very simple. Put it in boiling water for awhile and then remove. Add some butter and salt to it. And you're ready. Quite simple actually. So there you have it. YUMMY dinner. Labels: home cooked, western Saturday, June 28, 2008 A few days back, 26th June, was Jacobson's 10th birthday. The poor kid had school. Poor kid was bullied by me whole day. =) Hahaha. Just messing. Got him a water gun and he is LOVING it. Got him a deformed Gundam model, and he is fixing it. Those were from John and I. My dad gave me RM200 to get him a present. I spent RM51 and kept the rest. Hahaha I am kidding! I got him a WWE magazine, a limited edition. And the June issue of the WWE magazine. Of course, I read it first. Hahaha. Well its from my dad. But I should have kept some of the money huh? Hahaha. Anyway, didn't celebrate much with him as he was in school, and we were leaving to Korea at night. So we had to make do with a late lunch. We went to a favourite of mine. Milwaukee Steak Corner. And then at night, ordered pizza and had Boston Cheesecake. Picture on that later. Here are pictures from lunch at Milwaukee. The kedongdong drink. Large. Trying to show you how big it was. Damn! now that I think of it, I should have got Bel to put her face against the glass. =) Their mushroom soup is the BEST!!! The bread that holds the soup is DELICIOUS as well. :) Always will finish. And scrape the bread at the bottom. This is my mum's. If it was John's or mine... The whole bottom will be missing. Hahah, we did that at Swensen's in Singapore. Escargot. Yummy Yummy! This wasn't too bad. Not that much cheese. If there was more, I wouldn't mind. Load of garlic though. I remember always eating at Sakura in Bukit Bintang, their escargots are delicious!!! Cheesy and garlicky. YUMMMMMY! Eat like the Italians! Jessebel's lamb. Jacobson got the leg, Jessebel the shoulder and dad got tenderloin. It was all tough. Not as good as it usually is. I think the head chef went home as it was already 2.30pm. And my chicken burger. Not too bad. But it was such a BIG portion. Especially for me. The burger was soooo thick. Hahaha. Had to eat it two layers at a time. Not too bad. But the patty was a little flaky. Is that what happens to chicken patties? And if you would like to visit... =) Go ahead! I seriously recommend this place. I think value for money, because their portions are really huge. Oooohhhhh! Their fried chicken wings is also delicious. Anyway, if you want the directions to the one in Balakong, I can give them to you. =) Wednesday, October 3, 2007 Yes, I cooked it MYSELF. I did! I swear... and it tastes FABULOUS! This is what you do. Lay out the bread/tortilla. Put come Chili on one side. You decide how much. I normally like more because I make Chili that is spicy with loads of pepper and I love the kick. Well for me, I tend to be more "clean" and "lady like" when I eat this. Cause it gets sooo messy.Food - 10/10 (BIAS!! hahaha honestly though my dad gave his approval. I think 8/10) Service - N/A Ambiance - 10/10 (home is the best) Btw, all the cutlery and plates and stuff - provided by my parents. Hahaha. They sell stuff like that. =D Labels: home cooked, western |
